Dioxin 2022 in New Orleans

Our team will be attending Dioxin 2022 in New Orleans, United States during the week of 9 - 14 October.
Jenny, Huiling and Jon will be available at the Chiron booth (B-2) throughout the week.

Better understanding of POPs through analytical standards

Project parners Jacob de Boer, Louise van Mourik and Sicco Brandsma talk to Dutch Journal; C2W Mens and Molecule about the important contributions of the CHLOFFIN and REVAMP Eurostars projects towards improving the detecton and harmonising measurement of POP such as CPs and PFAS.

"For some time now, there has been increased attention for so-called Persistant Organic Pollutants (POPs). These are very stable chemicals that are hardly broken down and still spread after a long time and accumulate in the environment and in living organisms. In the CHLOFFIN and REVAMP projects, researchers are developing analytical standards for a number of these substances."

Certification study: SCCPs in fish - Study scope and clarification meeting

On the 17th June JRC hosted a meeting for participants of the interlaboratory comparison for characterisation of SCCPs in Fish. The characterisation, technical specifications and measurement guidelines were discussed.

Virtual discussion meeting on chlorinated paraffins

On the 27th August Vrije Universiteit hosted a virtual discussion meeting on Chlorinated Paraffins. This was a huge success with over 82 registrants, and more than 60 participants on the day, representing 17 different countries. The presenters have kindly consented to sharing their slides, which can be downloaded from the publications tab.

The CHLOFFIN team met at the European Commission’s JRC site in Geel (Belgium), for the first progress meeting.
The meeting provided an opportunity to tour the impressive production, certification and distribution facilities available. The different processing areas at JCR are organised alphabetically but the CHLOFFIN group had a new proposal for the ‘C’ area, which is currently where the Cryogenic milling is undertaken to reduce particulate size and ensure homogeneity of their Certified Reference Materials.
